  • The D2 High School Honors Festival is an annual event hosted at Port Clinton High School for Band, Orchestra, and Choir.
  • Three guest conductors are invited to lead the ensembles.

Registration
  • Registration cost is $10.00 per student

  • All registration fees must be paid at the Tuesday rehearsal. Please have one check to cover the costs for all students from your school, payable to OMEA District II Treasurer. You must also show your current OMEA card and pay for any Directors’ Dinners (more on that below).

To participate, students and their directors must submit a recorded audition.
  • The music for this audition will be posted on the District 2 Website before the event.
  • District 2's educators assess auditions. 
Each ensemble has a rehearsal on the Tuesday evening before the event from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
Each ensemble has a rehearsal on the day of the festival, Saturday, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Instructions for Festival Concert - 7:00 pm on Saturday

  • The concert dress will be individual school uniforms. Choir – individual school choir robes – girls must wear a dress shorter than the hem of the robe and dress shoes, and boys must wear dress pants and a white shirt/tie. If your school does not have a uniform or robe, the boys wear a dark suit, dress shirt/tie, and dress shoes. Girls should wear a dress and dress shoes.
  • There will be an evening meal for the directors and guest clinicians. The Port Clinton Music Boosters will provide supervision during the dinner hour. You must register for the director’s dinner beforehand. Please pay for your director’s meal on Tuesday when you arrive for the evening rehearsal and register with your students. The meal is $10 per person.
  • The Port Clinton Music Boosters will provide the concessions during the festival day. All items will be ala carte, including milk, pop, fruit, snacks, sandwiches, and pizzas.
