Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Deliver high-quality instrumental music instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and assessments to support student learning and performance
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress; communicate expectations and progress with students and families
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support student success
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to enhance instructional practices
  • Support students with disabilities through implementation of IEPs, 504 plans, and intervention strategies as required
  • Uphold district policies, student conduct expectations, and safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Supervise assigned activities and participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
  • Serve as a positive role model and promote the mission and values of Versailles Exempted Village School District
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies, the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES 2.0), and applicable collective bargaining agreements. The Versailles Exempted Village School District is looking for its next exceptional Middle and High School Instrumental Music Teacher.  The district is a high-achieving school district in which the arts are highly valued.  The successful candidate will continue the tradition of excellence and will continue to build the program to even greater numbers.  You are supported by a very helpful, supportive, and involved boosters organization.  The High School Band room is a newly built, absolute gem of an addition to the school's K-12 school building.  You are one of three VERY strong music instructors in the district, the others being vocal and elementary staff.  The Versailles marching band regularly competes at and often earns Superior (I) ratings at the state marching band competition.  There is a tradition of excellence here.  We are looking for the next wonderful staff member to continue that tradition and to build upon it.  Given that you get to work with middle school musicians as well, there is a great opportunity to build the numbers of the program to become even greater.

Availability:
Employment begins with the new contract year after 8/1/2026. Summer band camp and any other days prior to the "regular" employment year are dealt with via supplimentals and extended day contracts.
