Details:
• Plan and deliver engaging vocal music instruction for students in grades 6–12
• Direct and develop middle school (grades 6–8) and high school choir programs
• Collaborate with the high school band program, including co-teaching
responsibilities as assigned
• Integrate district and building-level academic initiatives into the choral
curriculum to support overall student achievement
• Recruit, retain, and inspire student participation in vocal music programs
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and instruct large ensembles of
middle and high school students
• Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and staff
• Support and attend rehearsals, performances, competitions, and events outside
of the regular school day
 

Qualifications:
• Valid Ohio K–12 Music License with a strong background in vocal and choral
music (instrumental experience preferred)
• Demonstrated success in developing and leading choral programs
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and
colleagues
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning
environment
• Passion for cultivating a lifelong appreciation of music in students
• Strong sense of community and ability to create programs that engage and excite
students
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of and ability to connect within the wider
school community

Supplemental Expectations:
Willingness and ability to assume all vocal music related supplemental contracts,
including:
- Solo and Ensemble Events (Tri County ESC & OMEA)
- Show choir - Choralettes and Debonairs
- Music Director for MS & HS Musicals
- Wayne County Festival of Choirs
