Grove City Marching Band is a competitive group actively participating in both the Mid-States Band Association (MSBA) and Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) circuits. We are seeking a motivated and disciplined educator to join our instructional staff for the upcoming season. Brass experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for an individual who prioritizes the fundamental growth of the performer and leads by example through professional conduct and a high standard of excellence.

  • Instructional Attendance: Maintain a consistent presence by attending all scheduled rehearsals, performances, and events as well as attending at least one of the after school practices a week.
  • Camp Requirements: Provide full instructional support during the following band camps:
    • Pre-Band Camp
    • Full Band Camp
  • Ensemble Coordination: Work closely with the Director and fellow instructional staff to execute weekly goals. 
  • Student Management: Provide support to manage student focus and engagement during rehearsals, football games, competitions, and parades.
  • Skill Development: Focus on the long-term improvement of the section. While we strive for excellence within the MSBA and OMEA circuits, our primary success is measured by the growth of the students rather than trophy counts.
  • Standard of Conduct: Instructors are expected to model the exact behavior, work ethic, and attitude expected of the students.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the director and instructional staff to create a unified idea.
This is a seasonal position paid in two installments ranging from Late July to November.
