Athens High School is seeking a percussion instructor to serve on staff of the Athens High School Marching Green and Gold. Athens High School is an OMEA competition marching band with front ensemble and battery percussion. The position would begin with summer camp rehearsals and continue throughout the fall including competition and football game performances.
Duties of the position include:
-Work under the guidance of the Athens High School band directors
-Teach the marching band percussion section playing fundamentals and music in sectionals
-Assist percussion students in full ensemble settings
-Provide students for strategies to learn and improve music
-Run warm-up and provide support to percussion students during performances
-Assist directors and students with moving percussion equipment during rehearsals and performances
-Teaching students proper technique and care in moving percussion equipment
-Serve as a positive role model to students
Qualifications:
Background in Competitive Marching Band Percussion Preferred
BCI/FBI Background Check Required
