Outstanding Music Educator


Each year OMEA honors an Outstanding Music Educator in the state of Ohio. In order for this award to be presented, it is necessary for OMEA members to nominate music educators who are deserving of such statewide recognition. Take a few moments to consider your professional OMEA colleagues. There are many excellent music teachers in Ohio who are committed to excellence in music education within their districts.
Please assist OMEA in recognizing these individuals for their outstanding service, dedication, and overall contribution to music education by nominating them for this award. All nominations must be submitted no later than November 1st to be considered for this award.The OMEA Board of Trustees will make their selection, and the award recipient will be notified by December 1st. The award will be presented at the OMEA Professional Development Conference. This award will be made to individuals who have served their students, communities, and profession in an exemplary manner. Any member of OMEA is eligible, and nominations must be submitted by an OMEA member.

THE NOMINEE SHOULD:
1. Be a member in good standing with OMEA and must agree to be present at the annual OMEA Professional Development Conference to receive the award.
2. Have a commitment and dedication to his or her students.
3. Meet the needs and interests of students in a creative manner; bring about learning, growth, and development in all areas.
4. Contribute personal effort and time beyond the normal teaching duties in promoting music education and the arts in his or her school system, community, region, and/or state.
